Saturday, November 15th, we are pleased to invite you to a SPECIAL autumn outdoor activity, the first Garden Olympics Game, at the Hortus Urbis, the garden in the Appia Antica Park with solely ancient Roman plants.

At 3.00 pm – “Olimpiadi dell’orto” | by Hortus Urbis

Participants will complete a wide variety of skill tests! Among the many challenges to compete are: watering, compost sifting, sowing, planting, leaf plant and magical herb identification, as well as various skill tests.

Not only will you have fun, but you’ll also go home with plenty of trophies.

  • Three categories: small, medium and large-aged
  • About 1 hour

TO SIGN UP

To sign up it is mandatory to send an email to hortus.zappataromana@gmail.com, by 12.00 am Friday November 14th. In the email please indicate Name of the child and the adults that will accompany with a telephone number. Your reservation is valid after you’ve received an email with the payment instructions. The cost of the workshop is 5 euro per child.

HOW TO REACH US

Hortus Urbis at the former paper mill “ Cartiera Latina”, via Appia Antica, 42 /50 (near the fountain)

Bike: Cristoforo Colombo bike route and Circonvallazione Ardeatina.

Bus: 118 or 218 on the Appia Antica (Domine Quo Vadis stop); 30express, 714 and 715 on the via Cristoforo Colombo (Cristoforo Colombo/Bavastro stop or Cristoforo Colombo/Circonvallazione Ostiense stop) and then short walk along the Circonvallazione Ardeatina in the Scott Park.

Car: On Sundays parking at via Carlo Conti Rossini, Largo Gavaligi, via Omboni, via Scott and surroundings and then short walk along the Circonvallazione Ardeatina in the Scott Park. On every other day parking at via Appia Antica 50.
