We are pleased to invite you to the outdoor Spring activities of the Hortus Urbis, the garden in the Appia Antica Park with solely ancient Roman plants.

It will be our last appointment before the Summer in occasione of the Slow Food event “Osteria! Social Food 2018”.

SATURDAY JUNE 9th

From 10 am until 12 pm,  “Acquerelli nell’orto” by Gioia Marchegiani. For grownups.

At 12 pm – Hortus Urbis guided tour for the participants of the “Corso di piante officinali” by Slow Food with brief introduction by Zappata Romana (suggested donation for Hortus Urbis). For grownups.

  • Reservation on the spot with Slow Food

From 12 pm to 2 pm – “Mani in pasta”: prepare and bake azyme bread in the adobe oven at Hortus Urbis. But if you just want to taste it we will bake for you.  By Zappata Romana and Eu’s il buono fatto bene. For kids and grownups. Suggested donation (€3).

At 4,30 pm – Hortus Urbis guided tour for the participants of the “Corso di piante officinali” by Slow Food with brief introduction by Zappata Romana (suggested donation for Hortus Urbis). For grownups.

  • Reservation on the spot with Slow Food

From 6,30 pm to 7 pm – Garden guided tour (for grownups) to know about its plants and their uses in ancient Roman times, its story and the stories of the shared gardens in Rome. By Hortus Urbis. For grownups. Suggested donation (€3).

 SUNDAY JUNE 10th

At 12 pm – Hortus Urbis guided tour for the participants of the “Corso di piante spontanee” by Slow Food with brief introduction by Zappata Romana (suggested donation for Hortus Urbis). For grownups.

HOW TO REACH US

Hortus Urbis at the former paper mill “ Cartiera Latina”, via Appia Antica, 42 /50 (near the fountain)

Bike: Cristoforo Colombo bike route and Circonvallazione Ardeatina.

Bus: 118 on the Appia Antica (Domine Quo Vadis stop) or 30express, 2018, 714 and 715 (Cristoforo Colombo/Bavastro stop or Cristoforo Colombo/Circonvallazione Ostiense stop) and then short walk along the Circonvallazione Ardeatina in the Scott Park.

Car: parking at via Carlo Conti Rossini, Largo Gavaligi, via Omboni, via Scott and surroundings and then short walk along the Circonvallazione Ardeatina in the Scott Park.
