Sunday, May 6th, we are pleased to invite you to the outdoor Spring activities of the Hortus Urbis, the garden in the Appia Antica Park with solely ancient Roman plants.

At 11 am – “SEMINA CHE TI PASSA” | for little gardeners in Italian, by Hortus Urbis

We will discover the fantastic world of the seeds, the shapes, the colors, the dimensions, the smells. Each child will take home … something to throw and sow. You will receive everything you need to save your small seeds from predators and droughts by mixing earth, clay and seasonal seeds until you get balls: the SEEDS BOMBS! sow flowers and vegetables, to make the city and your street more beautiful.

At 11 am – “SCRIVIAMO COME GLI ANTICHI” (postponed on May 27th 2018) | for little archeologists in Italian, by SemiDiCarta

We will live the emotion of the invention of writing and we will experiment cuneiform writing under the indications of an archaeologist.

The kids will write on clay with the patience of the scribes and will bring home their tablet as a real child of ancient times.

It is strongly recommended to sign up with an advanced payment on line. Every workshop costs 10 euro per child or 8 euro with Carta amici del Parco, except for the readings. It is possible to sign up on the spot only for the remaining availability 10 euro per child payment on site.

HOW TO REACH US

Hortus Urbis at the former paper mill “ Cartiera Latina”, via Appia Antica, 42 /50 (near the fountain)

Bike: Cristoforo Colombo bike route and Circonvallazione Ardeatina.

Bus: 118 on the Appia Antica (Domine Quo Vadis stop) or 30express, 2018, 714 and 715 (Cristoforo Colombo/Bavastro stop or Cristoforo Colombo/Circonvallazione Ostiense stop) and then short walk along the Circonvallazione Ardeatina in the Scott Park.

Car: parking at via Carlo Conti Rossini, Largo Gavaligi, via Omboni, via Scott and surroundings and then short walk along the Circonvallazione Ardeatina in the Scott Park.
