Sunday, May 17th we are pleased to invite you to the Spring outdoor activities of the Hortus Urbis, the garden in the Appia Antica Park with solely plants of the Roman Age.

At  10.00 – “Musica nell’orto” | Workshop for kids, by A&A Music

Approach music with a new musical instrument to play together, learning having fun … with hand bells. Every small musician will be responsible of one or more bells which played together, in harmony and accord will make music. Easy to play, accessible to all, experts and simple music lovers!

  • 5 years onwards
  • Fee: 12 euro per child, 9 euro with the Carta amici del Parco
  • Time: 50 minutes
  • Reservations until 6 pm of Friday, May 15th, at hortus.zappataromana@gmail.com
  • Registration: 15 minutes before the beginning of the workshop

At  11.00 – “Disegniamo … con il carboncino vegetale” | Workshop for kids in Italian, by Semi di carta

A gift from nature, the charcoal pencil will be made from burned sticks. You will learn how to make your own at home and what special effects you can have when blended. Just like the artists of ancient times  we will use it to draw trees, branches, leaves and birds. All this surrounded by the sounds and perfumes of the Hortus Urbis.

  • 5 years onwards
  • Fee: 8 euro per child, 6 euro with the Carta amici del Parco
  • Time: 50 minutes
  • Reservations until 6 pm of Friday, May 15th, at hortus.zappataromana@gmail.com
  • Registration: 15 minutes before the beginning of the workshop

How to reach us

Hortus Urbis at the former paper mill “ Cartiera Latina”, via Appia Antica, 42 /50 (near the fountain), Rome

Bike: Cristoforo Colombo bike route and Circonvallazione Ardeatina.

Bus: 118 and 218 on the Appia Antica (Domine Quo Vadis stop) or 30express, 714 and 715 (Cristoforo Colombo/Bavastro stop or Cristoforo Colombo/Circonvallazione Ostiense stop) and then short walk along the Circonvallazione Ardeatina in the Scott Park.

Car: parking at via Carlo Conti Rossini, Largo Gavaligi, via Omboni, via Scott and surroundings and then short walk along the Circonvallazione Ardeatina in the Scott Park
